About the brand 7clouds
Fair production
7clouds promotes economic stability in the factories in Kolkata (India) by pre-financing 65% of the production costs. This security they offer to the producers enables them to provide wage security for employees. 7clouds thus takes full responsibility of the production orders by pre-financing 100% of the production before the goods are shipped.
Through the regular, friendly exchange with their producers and their production monitoring, they are able to directly influence production standards themselves.

Sustainability
7clouds develops and produces articles with the claim of sustainable action in the entire value chain. In doing so, they assume responsibility in their actions and carefully examine the effects this has on people and the environment.
All production materials are selected on the basis of predefined criteria, so that only components that meet the ideas in terms of this responsibility are used.
Tarpaulin
The outer material of all backpacks, bags and purses is made of tarpaulin (boat cover). The supplier of the outer material, SRF India, has a long tradition in the areas of ecology, social issues and education. SRF seeks a balance between society's needs for environmentally friendly production and stable environmental conditions.
Cotton
Organic cotton is deliberately used as a lining material for all backpack and bag models. This is because the natural fibre is a renewable raw material, can be recycled and is therefore sustainable.
Leather
Vegetable-tanned and dyed leather is used for all backpack and bag models as well as the wallets. This leather is thus traditionally tanned and dyed without chemical additives. It is therefore chrome-free and protects people and the environment.
In addition, 7clouds articles reach the EU by sea in container ships from India. This deliberately chosen transport route can reduce CO2. This is because the emission by sea freight is 35 grams per 1000 kilometres, in contrast to air freight, which is 1000 grams per kilogram of goods per 1000 kilometres.
Furthermore, only used cardboard boxes are used for shipping the 7clouds products.
Upcycling
Discarded advertising tarpaulins form the basis for the 7clouds wallets, which are used to make sustainable RFID signal-blocking wallets. The short life of the advertising tarpaulins leaves a large CO2 footprint, whereby their production and disposal are disproportionate to the resources required and their disposal.
